Our Gotcha Day

Well, let's just say it wasn't as smooth as I had hoped. She was pretty much kicking and screaming as soon as they placed her in my arms. She reached out for Jason (so sweet!) but she really wasn't in the mood for being comforted. Poor thing. But, boy, is she ever beautiful!! It took her about 3 hours once we were in our room for her to stop crying. I won't say it was easy, because honestly it was the hardest thing I think we've ever done. She was well loved by her care givers, and for that we are grateful. She is sleeping peacefully now, and I need to follow suit as it's been an exhausting day. She's beautiful, she's our daughter, and we are incredibly blessed. I'll give more details tomorrow, but I wanted to post the few photos we took amidst the chaos! Love to you all, and thank you for praying!

Krysta,
We are so happy for you. We checked your blog yesterday and then I was talking to Sebastian and he said the sweetest thing. "I can't think of anyone who would make a better Mom than Mrs. Hess." We all agree. You all are in our prayers.

Hey Krysta,
Heidi and I went home this weekend for Mother's Day and all weekend we were reminding each other, "OK 15 more hours! 8 more hours! 5 more hours!...etc" We also checked your page about 3,000 times. Thanks for the updates and pictures it is so fun to see how you all are doing on your journey. Have a safe trip home.

Congratulations Hess Family!!!

Hang in there! Adjustment takes time. Praise God that she has been so loved and well cared for! May He richly bless you and give you the spiritual and physical strength that you will need in the days to come. He is faithful and His mercies are new every morning!

Oh, Krysta, the photos are priceless! I know that the initial meeting must have been hard on you, with your expectations high and your physical reserves low, but it looks like things improved. You know she must feel like she's being kidnapped, but your love will overcome all that. Wait 'till she sees her darling room! Smooth sailing on the rest of the trip.

Jason and Krista, I am going to try this again. I am such a techy:):) I sit here looking at the pictures of your little Jia as she is passed into her new parents' arms and tears are streaming down my face. I am rejoicing with you and all the dozens of friends and family (that would be me:):) that have been praying and longing for this day to come. What a wonderful Mommy and Daddy you both will be to this beautiful little girl that the Lord has had for you from the beginning of time. He is so good! We hold you in our hearts and prayers and can't wait until you get home! Love, Auntie Susi

I think I now have the most beautiful Granddaughter in the entire world. I am so delighted to be able to share with you, through photos, all the things that are taking place as you are coming together as a family. I'm happy she is finally settling in with you and I pray she is comfortable enough with you now that it will be smooth sailing from here on out. I can hardly wait to hear and see more in the days and weeks to come. Love and kisses to the THREE of you. Mom aka Vicki but most of all GRANDMA!!

She is truly adorable! I am so excited for you. It is so good to see her in your arms. All of the teachers were beside themselves looking at the pictures this morning. We are so excited to meet little Jia. You are in our thoughts and prayers! Brie

Yipee! Jia is beautiful and so are you. I pray that each day is easier for her-then it will be for you two also. Can't wait to have you back -can't wait for more pictures.
Last night Paul realized that it was just about 10 am your time and he stopped and said let's pray right now. Give her lots of hugs from your sisters here. Mary
