The first time we saw your face

We were given the news on your daddy's birthday!

We are going to keep your given name, Jia, because of it's meaning. Here's how we finally settled on it...The 1st and 2nd graders at my school, not knowing what your name means, created a special card for me that said "She's beautiful" on the outside and it had a copy of your picture in the middle. (Of course I started crying when I saw it!) Later, one of the moms asked me what we were going to name you, and I said we were thinking about keeping your first name. She wondered if we knew what it meant and when I looked it up, this is what it said "JIA: Chinese name meaning "beautiful".
Of all the names you could have been given by your caregivers, your name means BEAUTIFUL. Once we found that out, it was very clear we were supposed to keep your name because beautiful is indeed what you are!
